Debbie’s Love Story

Debbie’s shower

It was a surprise bridal shower yesterday at the Onogboseles’ residence! On her last day as a single lady, Deborah Onogbosele also called Debbie by friends, shares her love story…
She was at that point where she was tired of going through the motions of failed relationships. She went on her kneels and cried to God that Monday in Church; “give me my own that will last” she prayed.
According to her, she saw him on the drum. He was the drummer of her local Church and she was a choir member (Covenant Voices). God had spoken to her about him. They started as friends before he popped the question.
According to her sister, (Dorcas Onogbosele) she noticed Deborah’s song every morning then was; “ire mi de, ire Ayo, ire mi Kabo, ire mi Wolede and iyawo mi.. ololofe mi…” “I just knew my sister was in love” she chuckled.
However, it wasn’t a smooth ride all the way. There were challenges; “financially”. “We had nothing”, Debbie emphasized.
During his service year as a Corp member, his calls were not so frequent. The thought of maybe he had found someone else was coming to mind. But whenever he called, he’ll apologized, explaining the reason why he had not been able to call (Financial constraint). Even after National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), a job was not forth coming.
There were times when there was nothing to eat. This made them both to doubt if their relationship was really of God. “Things were not working, because if it was of God, things would work”, she explained.
The struggle lingered, but through it all, they held on to God’s word. The word He gave her concerning Biodun. Also, “I knew he was a man who had a vision for his life”.

More so, the challenges and tests made us stronger, she affirmed.
Her advice to every single lady out there in a relationship or not, is to go for a man that has a vision, (brothers you’ve heard, go for vision).
“He mustn’t be rich to be the right person, and mustn’t be poor to be the right person,” seek God’s face before you enter any relationship. She added.
“Empower yourself, don’t be like that woman who sits at home waiting for her husband to give her money before she can buy something for herself”.
Deborah and Biodun have been together in a relationship for eight years now, and today they tied the cord and binded their union in traditional marriage.
